Strútur
Strútur hut is ideally located just north of the Mýrdalsjökull glacier, offering access to a range of scenic hiking routes in the surrounding area. A detailed hiking map is available for purchase at Útivist’s office in Reykjavík or directly from the warden at the hut. During peak season—typically from early July to mid-August—a warden is stationed at the hut to assist visitors. Útivist also provides guided hiking tours in the area, catering to both short and extended treks for groups.

Opening season and access
Opening season is July 1. to September 15.
When driving towards the hut from west (road F210) a left turn is taken at crossroads with GPS-waypoints N63°48,023 / W18°57,351. When coming from east (road F232) a right turn shall be taken at those same crossroads.
Only well-equipped 4x4 vehicles or larger off-road vehicles are capable of driving to the hut.
