Eiríksskáli (Svínárnes)
Eiriksskáli (formely known as Svínárnes hut) sits beside the Svíná River, just below Búrfell, in the heart of the Hrunamannaafréttur highland area. The new hut is built in 2025. On-site you’ll find running water, a stable, and a dedicated horse paddock. The original turf hut has also been restored in recent years. The kitchen is equipped with basic cooking gear and utensils. Accommodation capacity: Up to 32 guests in total. Room 1: 12-person – bunk beds (double on the bottom, single on top) Room 2: 4-person – 4 single beds Room 3: 12-person – bunk beds (double on the bottom, single on top) Room 4: 4-person – 4 single beds Sold as one unit.

Attention – Important Seasonal Notice
From October to June, this hut is only accessible with specialized vehicles (modified 4x4 “super jeeps”), snowmobiles, skis, or by hiking. Standard cars cannot reach the hut during this period. Please also note that running water may not be available in these months, and services are limited. Guests should be well prepared for remote and challenging highland conditions. Learn More

Price for accommodation in the hut 2026 is 9.500 ISK incl. tax. Minimum booking of 12 people.

Opening season and access
Open all year, but in winter time it is not possible to drive in the area on regular 4x4 cars (only "super-jeeps", snowmobiles etc). Road conditions can be checked at www.umferdin.is
