South Iceland
Fremstaver
Fremstaver is a cozy mountain hut located in Iceland’s central highlands, south of Bláfell and right by the historic Kjalvegur route. The hut sits amidst breathtaking wilderness, offering sweeping views of vast highland plains, mountains, and glaciers – a true paradise for nature lovers and adventurers. Fremstaver was originally a sheep shelter but has been renovated into a simple yet welcoming mountain hut, perfectly suited for groups, travelers, and horse back riders crossing the highlands. Apart from the hut there is also a stable on the site. The accommodation can host 28 guests and has facilities to receive groups traveling with horses. There is some vegetation surrounding the hut, and resting pens for horses have also been set up nearby.
