Attention – Important Seasonal Notice
From October to June, many huts are only accessible with specialized vehicles (modified 4x4 “super jeeps”), snowmobiles, skis, or by hiking. Standard cars cannot reach the huts during this period.
Please also note that running water may not be available in these months, and services are limited. Guests should be well prepared for remote and challenging highland conditions. Learn More.

Facilities
The hut has running water (during summer and fall), a stable, and a fenced paddock for horses. Outhouse during winter.
Cooking utensils and equipment are provided.

The hut includes bunk beds accommodating approximately 24 people.
Pricing & Cancellations
Minimum booking of two people and the price per guest is ISK 6.900. Free for children under the age of 12.

Opening season and access
The hut is accessible by 4x4 vehicles (and other relevant means of transportations) from June to September. It may be open earlier in spring and later in the fall depending road conditions. The hut can be rented out in the winter as well but access will only be by super jeeps, snowmobiles etc.

Leppistungur is an area in Hrunamannafréttur located between the rivers Fúlá, Kerlingará, and Sandá, somewhat south of the Kerlingarfjöll mountains. The area derives its name from two hills, Stóri-Leppur and Litli-Leppur. Leppistungur is known for its relatively lush vegetation.
