Hungurfit
Hungurfit is a well-equipped hut conveniently situated in the Fjallabak area. In the summer time the cabin is accessible by mountain roads for 4x4 SUV and similar vehicles. A warden is in the cabin during the summer. In wintertime access is only possible for “super jeeps” specially modified for difficult conditions.

Opening season and access
Opening season all year. In summer you need a good 4x4 (SUV or similar). In winter a modified "super jeep" is required.
When driving towards the hut take road F210 from west and a right turn is taken at crossroads with GPS-waypoints N63° 51.306' W19° 34.213'

Hungurfit Track (4×4 Route)
An exceptionally scenic and remote 4x4 mountain track connecting F261 to F210 via Hungurfit and Króksskáli huts. The route includes rugged terrain, steep climbs, river crossings, and rocky paths—only suitable for experienced drivers with large 4×4 vehicles or super jeeps due to its difficulty.
