Helgaskáli
Helgaskáli is located on the so-called Línuvegur (Line Road) between Tungufellsdalur and Þjórsárdalur. The hut stands by Stóra-Laxá, right next to Geldingafell. The hut has running water, indoor toilet facilities accessible from inside the hut, a stable, and a horse paddock. Cooking equipment and utensils are available. There are bunks in the hut for about 24 people.

Attention – Important Seasonal Notice
From October to June, many huts are only accessible with specialized vehicles (modified 4x4 “super jeeps”), snowmobiles, skis, or by hiking. Standard cars cannot reach the huts during this period.
Please also note that running water may not be available in these months, and services are limited. Guests should be well prepared for remote and challenging highland conditions. Learn More.

Pricing and cancellation policy
Price for accommodation in the hut 2025 is 7.500 ISK incl. tax. Minimum booking is for two persons. Children under the age of 12 are free.

Opening season and access
Open all year, but in winter time it is not possible to drive in the area on regular 4x4 cars (only "super-jeeps", snowmobiles etc). Road conditions can be monitored on www.umferdin.is
