A new mountain hut was taken into use in 2008. The hut has running water, and toilet facilities are located inside the hut. There is a horse paddock and a tack storage area. Cooking equipment and utensils are available. The hut has bunks for 20 people.

Attention – Important Seasonal Notice
From October to June, many huts are only accessible with specialized vehicles (modified 4x4 “super jeeps”), snowmobiles, skis, or by hiking. Standard cars cannot reach the huts during this period.
Please also note that running water may not be available in these months, and services are limited. Guests should be well prepared for remote and challenging highland conditions. Learn More.

Price for accommodation in the hut 2025 is 7.500 ISK incl. tax. Minimum booking is for two persons.
Huts.is standard cancellation policy applies.
Opening season and access
Open all year, but in winter time it is not possible to drive in the area on regular 4x4 cars (only "super-jeeps", snowmobiles etc). Road conditions can be monitored on www.umferdin.is
