South Iceland
Foss
Foss is located on the edge of the highland by Rangárvellir and was inhabited until 1978. It can be said that the southern Fjallabak Trail begins/ends at the turnoff to Foss. Foss is therefore an ideal place to start or end a journey through Fjallabak. Foss is a natural paradise with countless hiking and riding trails nearby and is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers to stay there for a longer or shorter period of time. Foss is both a peaceful natural gem and is also close to all services, whether in Hella or Hvolsvöllur. Foss has accommodation for up to 18 people, cooking facilities and a water toilet. There are very good facilities for horses, accessible grazing pens and good facilities.
