Básar á Goðalandi
The Básar area offers hiking trails for all ages and experience levels. The "Básar Circle" is an easy route that takes about an hour to complete, making it ideal for both kids and adults. For stunning views, a hike up Réttarfell mountain is well worth it, while Útigönguhöfði provides a more challenging option for those seeking a workout. The Hvannárgil canyon is a breathtaking natural gem, often described as a fairytale-like landscape. You can purchase a detailed hiking map either from the warden at Básar or at Útivist’s office in Reykjavík.
